JESSIKAH BABE

Jessikah Babe is a queer 23 year old creator from rural Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Blending manic dream rock and freak folk, her music pairs unarmoured songwriting with artful melodies. She has released a catalogue of original music, most notably her 2023 single "Again, Do It!" and performs both as a solo artist and with her band, Jessikah Babe and the Hey! What's That? In 2026, her band was featured on the main stage of Medicine Hat's Canada Day Festival, performing for thousands as part of the city's flagship celebration.

From 2022–2024, Jessikah studied Art & Design at Medicine Hat College, where she founded a film and animation club that organized film sprints, screenings, and festivals. She continues to create films and digital content. Her 2022 documentary Joy was a quarter-finalist at SWIFF and has received more than 140,000 views on YouTube.

Her creative work extends into marketing and events. As the 2025 and 2026 Marketing Manager for the Medicine Hat Skateboard Association's Beat the Heat (the largest amateur skateboard competition in Canada), she played a key role content creation, social media, website management, and random ass manual labour (like tearing down scaffolding, which she loved).

Winter 26/27 was her second season as a CASI certified snowboard instructor and she headed all the way to Austria to learn German and teach some fine international folk how to rip the slopes. Es hat ihr sehr gefallen and that was only the beginning of her globe trotting.

At the heart of everything she does is her passion for community, connection, and creativity.
